July 10, 2014 - Group 7 - The Final Battle!
This is the final day for you to ask questions and prove your ability to LISTEN and QUESTION ideas in English and make RELEVANT connections to the TEXT and the SPEAKER.
I will try to refrain from asking questions unless I do not understand, but you can expect the presenter to respond to you in class by reading the Home page.
Same Pattern:
Group 1 will create questions for 1st Presenter
2 for 2
3 for 3
4 for 4
5 for 5
6 for 6
7 presenting
Open to all for presenters 7 and 8
Remember to tag your name and group appropriately and who you are speaking to.
1 more day!
Good luck everyone~

July 9, 2014 Group 6 Presentations
Let's try something new, now that you've seen other people's questions and maybe practiced responding to some that are EASY or Difficult, try to create a question during the presentation to be answered by the presenter.

Smoke'd
Yesterday, someone threw a cigarette from their apartment window which fell nearly 1.5 m away from me. I was shocked and furious that someone could do such a thing. Two months ago, someone was BURNED on the face because of this and the police was able to do nothing except say empty threats related to DNA tracking. This is a poor solution because it assumes the criminal has their DNA on record.
When I went to the management office, the front desk reception women didn't seem too helpful and even told me that the manager was out, and the police will only do something if I got hurt; as a concession they said they can do an announcement warning. I INSISTED on them calling the manager and that we should go door-to-door to let these families and people know there is a person behind those WARNINGS. The manager was called and he was swift and sincere, and together we went to every door in my building. We spoke to about 5 or 6 but many did not open the door. As a result, I wanted to make a campaign type poster and he liked the idea. You can see the results below.
I hope from this class, you see that there are many things happening and that when we observe things we can also learn HOW to respond and take action. Good luck to all of you<3

July 7, 2014 Comments and Questions for Group 3
We will have 8 people present.
Group 4 will go today.
Group 1 should begin commenting on our first presenter.
Group 2 for the 2nd
Group 3 for the 3rd
Group 5 for the 4th
Group 6 for the 5th
Group 7 for the 6th
OPEN to any Group for the 7th, and 8th
You may ask a question about the presenter's ARTICLE ONLY, You should READ THE TEXT to make a better question or their writing. Also DO NOT ASK A question that ALREADY was answered, you should probably wait till I begin my first round of questions before writing yours.
Questions should examine the PURPOSE or usefulness of the article and HOW the speaker showed their PERSUASIVENESS
You may also leave a comment if you feel the speaker should have mentioned something.
For example, The speaker says something you STRONGLY disagree with such as how people develop their sexual interest.
You may want to search for a LINK or SOURCE to show that person there is research NOT opinion about how we develop biologically, socially, and environmentally.

You may also leave a comment if you feel the speaker should have mentioned something.
For example, The speaker says there are no successful women.
Audience might say, well do you consider the PRESIDENT OF KOREA a successful person?
This was neither brought by the Professor nor the Speaker, so this is a very valid question.

Comments for July 1 Presentations
In class we often do NOT have time to listen to 50+ people ask a Question. Questions are a great way for me to assess your Real-Time Critical thinking in English. So please think carefully in the type of question you ask and that it is not similar to my questions. Be more direct to the TEXT or the Article, or connect to something RELATED.
Follow this format:
GROUP # Name - WRITE Question ? to NAME OF STUDENT
Example:
Group 8 Jimmy - What would you do if you saw your glass was dirty? to Min Ho
Post questions below.
